Real sales call analysis

See how your salespeople actually sell, and exactly where they lose the deal.

Upload real sales calls. Cander scores each call and each salesperson, shows the moments behind every score, finds the weaknesses across your team, and turns them into personalized training. It is coaching and skill development, not a transcript.

  • Free first audit, no credit card
  • Up to 5 calls
  • Only you can open your recordings
How it works

From recordings to a plan for each salesperson.

  1. Upload actual calls

2 to 30 minutes each, as MP3, WAV or M4A. Assign each call to the salesperson who made it.

  2. Cander analyzes them

Each call is transcribed, the voices are separated, and the salesperson's side is scored. A progress line shows where every call is.

  3. Review each call

A score, the exact moments that moved it, what went well, and a stronger line to try for each weak spot.

  4. Read the team report

A profile for each salesperson and a team report on where the whole team is strong or weak.

  5. Turn gaps into training

Each weakness links to Focused Performance practice for that skill. With a Team plan you assign it and see who improves.

What gets measured

14 competencies, scored from what was actually said.

Each competency is scored only when it applies to the call and only with evidence from the conversation. A score with no supporting moment is not shown.

Rapport & listening

  • Opening & rapport. How the call starts: a clear, comfortable opening, a reason for the call, and a human connection without wasting the customer's time.
  • Active listening. Evidence the salesperson heard the customer: reflecting back what was said, building on it, not talking over them, and picking up cues they did not state outright.

Discovery & questioning

  • Discovery & questioning. The quality, depth and order of the salesperson's questions: open questions, follow-ups on what the customer said, and not pitching before understanding.
  • Understanding customer needs. Whether the salesperson ended up with an accurate picture of the customer's situation, problem and what a good outcome looks like, and confirmed it.
  • Qualification. Establishing whether this is a real opportunity: who decides, budget, timeline, and the customer's alternatives. Score only if the call stage called for it.
  • Customer motivations. Uncovering why the customer cares now: the underlying reasons, fears and goals behind what they asked for.

Value communication

  • Value articulation. Connecting the offer to what this customer said matters to them, in their terms, with honest and specific claims rather than generic features.
  • Product or service knowledge. Accuracy, clarity and confidence about the offer: correct answers, honest limits, no invented claims.
  • Price discussion. How price and cost are presented and discussed: confidence, clarity, tying price to value, and not flinching or over-discounting. Score only if price came up.

Objection handling

  • Objection handling. How concerns are met: understanding the real concern before answering, acknowledging it, and resolving it with substance. Score only if an objection or concern was actually raised.
  • Handling resistance. How the salesperson responds to stalling, brush-offs, skepticism or going cold: staying calm, finding what is behind it, and keeping the conversation useful. Score only if resistance appeared.

Closing & next steps

  • Negotiation. Handling requests for concessions, discounts or changed terms while protecting value and the relationship. Score only if the customer pushed on terms.
  • Closing & next steps. Moving the customer to a clear, agreed next step or decision at the right moment, recognizing buying signals, and confirming who does what and when.

Clarity & confidence

  • Confidence & communication. Clear, structured, appropriately paced speech; steady confidence without pressure; plain language; not rambling or filling with hedges.
What you get

Reports that tell you what to do next.

  • A review of every call

The score, the moments behind it in the speaker's own words, what worked, what didn't, and a stronger line to say.

  • A profile for each salesperson

Strengths, weaknesses and what to practise first, based on their calls. Fewer calls means a clearly marked, less certain picture.

  • A team report

Where the whole team is strong or weak, and your biggest opportunities, counting each salesperson once so one rep's many calls can't outweigh another's.

  • A path to improvement

Every weakness links to a Focused Performance skill. Practice scores are tracked level by level, so progress is real, not a lucky easy customer.

Tracking improvement: practice progress is tracked in Focused Performance, and a Teams workspace shows managers each person’s progress. See Focused Performance.

Questions about real call analysis

How is this different from call transcription?
A transcript gives you the words. Cander reads the conversation as a sales coach would: it scores each call on 14 competencies, shows the moment behind every score, suggests a stronger line to say, and sends each weakness to practice that targets it.
How many calls can I analyze, and what does it cost?
The Real Sales Call Audit is free: up to 5 calls and 120 minutes in all, 2 to 30 minutes each, one audit per person and per company. There is no credit card. To keep analyzing calls month after month, a paid Teams workspace has a monthly call allowance: see the Teams page for what it includes.
Do my salespeople need accounts?
No. You enter their names and assign each call to one. In a Cander Team workspace you can later link each name to a real account, or send them a link to join.
Is it legal to upload my team's calls?
That depends on where you and your customers are, and it is your responsibility. Before uploading you confirm you have the right to, and that everyone on the calls was told they were being recorded or the law where they are does not require it. If you are unsure, ask a lawyer first.
What happens to the recordings?
Only you can open them. They are stored privately, transcribed by a speech-to-text provider (Deepgram) and analyzed by an AI model (Anthropic), and Cander does not use them to train models. You can delete any recording, or the whole audit, whenever you like.
How accurate is the analysis?
It is an AI analysis of what was said, not a prediction of close rates, and there is no benchmark against other companies. With at most 5 calls it is a small sample: use it to start a coaching conversation. Every score links to the moments that earned it, so you can check it yourself.

Prefer not to upload recordings? The AI Roleplay Sales Audit is a separate free audit that uses simulations instead.
